The costumes and style is a bit old. But the song itself is good, nevertheless. I get an urge to listen to it every few years...

曹格先生

Don't know many of this songs...but these two are not bad.

Fallin'

Her songs were much better when she first started...I remember hearing about her and seeing her album in 2001.

Powerful singing, powerful words

Although I fell asleep when watching Dreamgirls, and didn't enjoy the movie that much. Beyonce, is nevertheless, a great performer.

Bossa Master- Antonio Carlos Jobim

Some happy, chilled music finally...unfortunately embedding was disabled, but I love how the different sounds and beats shake in the headphones when listening! This should be played when drinking cocktails~

Olivia Ong

I don't know much about this singer either, she's from Singapore I believe, and the song is nice and sweet. It was introduced to me by a friend.

Great stuff

Love what he does with this well known tango, but am ashamed to say I didn't know about about until very recently.

Tragedy...

All of Hong Kong's hearts are filled with heartbreaking pain, sadness, frustration, regret, helplessness...

Nothing can be done to reverse the damage, but let us be calmed by music for the soul.

Danny Boy

One of my favourite songs. I heard a men's choir version today which touched my heart so much. I can't upload it on here and yet I haven't found a satisfying men's choir version on youtube. So here is a choral version which will do for now. I will keep looking for that perfect men's choir version.

L'adieu

2 weeks in Hungary. It was like a dream- playing piano by day, drinking dessert wine by night under Venus and shooting stars, with fresh air and away from anything that defined Hong Kong. I didn't see a starbucks, mcdonalds, gucci or ferragamo shop for 2 weeks. I was away from the consumerism, just surrounded by good friends, intense conversations and delicious food and scenery.

It was very hard to say goodbye, and I will attach here Waltz- 'L'adieu' by Chopin which was a piece played by a dear friend of mine, performed in the video by the great Rubinstein to express our sad sentiments to leave each other after our blissful and beautiful days together.

Til I Hear You Sing

I must admit I haven't seen this musical, but a couple of friends saw it in London and recommended this song. What's your opinion on this sequel? Personally, I think they should have just left it alone and let Phantom remain a classic.

Spanish Fever!

Tonight I will celebrate my birthday with friends with lots of tapas, paella and sangria! So let's experience some Spanish spirit here with a clip from music-documentary Cuba Feliz! The song is called Lagrimas Negras, meaning Black Tears. I originally heard a different version of this song on Putumayo's World Music album named Cafe Cubano, which I highly recommend.

You Can't Hurry Love

Let's continue the blog in good spirits. I had a wonderful birthday yesterday, and the happy times reminded me on high school discos somehow, where they played real feel good songs from Motown group The Supremes. It'll definitely lift your spirits after listening!

Oh Happy Day!

Today is my birthday, so it is both fitting and timely to post this song from Sister Act 2 to reflect my mood today :) Great singing and so uplifting! Love it- wish you all a wonderful day!

Joshua Bell's 'Estrellita' *little star*

Something more mellow today featuring the classical artist Joshua Bell, playing something not so classical. To be truthful, I've never been a fan of Joshua Bell, but this is a beautiful rendition of the Mexican song Estrellita.
Perfect for listening in the still of the night alone, or with your loved one~

Also check out his latest album At Home with Friends where we see him crossing over genres with other well known music artists.

Always On Time, Ja Rule ft. Ashanti

This song popped into my mind out of the blue one day last week, for no reason really. Listening to it brings back many memories of the London partying days around 2002-3. I'm sure it will remind many of you of your fun nights out too!

Butterfly

Second post. Let's keep it short and sweet. This Jason Mraz song is so sexy and it's a great 'get in the mood' song if you are prepping for a big night out around town.

Bleeding Love

First post, let's start with some powerful stuff from Leona Lewis. Ironically, I always thought it was 'keep breathing' instead of 'keep bleeding'!

Now compare with this version from the relatively new German band 'The Baseballs'- who sings modern classics with a rock n' roll twist.

Enjoy!
